Meet Carl
Carl is running for Congress in Michigan’s 10th District in Macomb and Oakland counties. Carl has deep roots in our community, having served for almost 40 years as the Macomb County Prosecutor, an Assistant US attorney, and most recently as a judge on the 16th Judicial Circuit Court and Probate Court.
Carl is a lifelong resident of MI-10 with a commitment to the community. As his experience shows, Carl will work tirelessly to ensure families, small businesses, entrepreneurs and manufacturers have the resources to thrive and succeed in a 21st-century economy. We need a proven leader with Carl’s level of experience, integrity, compassion, and justice in our district. He will fight in Congress for a stronger future and will leave no one behind.

He's the first prosecutor in Macomb County history to hire African American assistant prosecutors

He greatly expanded opportunities for women lawyers in the prosecutor’s office, increasing the number of women assistant prosecutors from 7% (1984) to over 50% of the staff of assistant prosecutors by 2004

As a prosecutor, he helped seniors recover millions after they were fleeced by unscrupulous individuals

He established the Macomb Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (S.A.N.E.) program to allow prompt examination and support services for victims of criminal sexual conduct
